In the 1990s, Jack Shannon reinvented his life around a fascination for great food and its preparation. A lifelong “foodie,” Jack built relationships with Boston area chefs based on their individual style and preferences, then enlisted his “kids” to custom source, package and deliver a full menu of supplies to each chef’s kitchen. Specialty Food Source now brings that attention to detail, quality and selection to the home cook.
In the 2020s, Andrew Shannon follows the original recipe, but with a few touches of his own. The family has grown to 25 food service professionals, a 22,000 ft. warehouse and a fleet of vans and trucks. Whether you are tackling that project recipe from your favorite cookbook, or stocking up on your pantry essentials, Specialty Food Source has the products and experience to help you create delicious, beautiful food.
